10/hr is just about average for a babysitter and she has lots of perks. 210 a week is fine, if not great, but if you feel you should pay her more do so, if you can, otherwise stop worrying about.. she's not complaining, or at least she shouldn't be!

I say that is plenty. I was a live in nanny for two children age 8. I was paid $125 a week for 40 hours and I did most of the chores. I didn't mind because I loved them but $210 is about write for 20 hours a week I'd have to say.

I am a nanny and have worked with 4 families. I am currently a live out and I don't like it. Living in has more benefits. A live in nanny should be making at least starting at $15 an hour. A live out should have a staring pay of at least $17 an hour. It varies family by family though depending on the other perks available and the privacy given. If your neice seems happy with what she is getting. No problem. If it bothers you... maybe a bonus at the end of summer to thank her for helping you out -she'd have some unexpected money to take back to school with her.

Are you kidding, 210 a week is only ok if it is going to be less then 20 hours a week. Why would anyone want to bargin for the one who will be watching your child?
