I was in a terrible situation with my youngest child. Due to very serious health problems we had to pull our 9 month old out of private daycare and find a nanny very quickly. We decided to use LBNA for a few reasons and were sorely disappointed. We worked with Krystal who is disorganized and lacking in accountability. We were provided with one option where the candidate lived over an hour away from our home. The other candidate worked much closer and was a good fit. What LBNA failed to mention during contract negotiations where they pushed for higher pay for the nanny was that in Colorado you are required by law to have workers compensation insurance. This is not provided through your home owners insurance. You must get it through only one agency in the State of Colorado. It is expensive, $729 a year. They also were wishy-washy on taxes. The have one agency they recommend to help with taxes but they did not know the entire fees or mention that you have to pay for employer taxes. All of the additional expenses really add up and would have been extremely helpful to know prior to negotiating a salary. When this was brought up to LBNA they ignored two text messages, multiple emails and phone calls. 11 days later they finally responded with an email and said it wasn't their problem. I could have done so much more and paid so much less by using Care.com. LBNA charges $1000 for two candidates, a canned/useless contract and that is about it. They coach their nannies in their responses and push for higher pay. They are inconsiderate and took advantage of a family that had a child recovering from it's second open-heart bypass surgery. I highly urge you to not use LBNA. They are a scam. They do not know the nanny business or they are just crafty in not disclosing all of the details required to legally hire nannies in the state of Colorado. If you want to hire a nanny legally, do not use LBNA.They do not know the process.
