I am a career Nanny of 20 years who has had the pleasure of being successfully represented and placed twice in excellent positions by The Katie Facey Agency and I have never, repeat 'never' known her or her associates to be anything less than thorough, responsive to my calls and questions, timely and an equally fair advocate to both employer and employee. There are more than 18,000 domestic employment agencies on the east coast and only a small handful who give the time and energy to finding the best possible 'fit' for all involved, Katie Facey is one of them! If you need names of agents who can farm out applicants like cattle I can recommend a long list in the Tri State area, there are plenty to choose from but this agency is not one of them. Perhaps the real problem here is that you started your search too early, how many people did you expect to come knocking for a position that didn't start for 4 months!

This agency is a sham! I paid $250 to retain the agency after "Katie" spent an hour discussing my needs with me. I signed up on April 28, 2012 for a position to start after Labor Day. I never heard from her and she never sent me one client. No one ever answers the phone. My messages would go unreturned or returned after great delay by a male assistant who never had any information for me. At one point, he told me she would call me with candidates and I never heard a word. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!!!!! I will be suing for my money back.

We were very happy with Katie Facey and her agency. We had been interviewing a few other nannies from a couple other agencies and just didn't find what we were looking for. Talked to Katie and she spent close to an hour discussing our position and what our needs were. We met with three candidates and could have hired any one of them as they all were more than qualified and professional. The nanny we did end up hiring has been everything we had hoped for and most importantly our son is doing wonderfully.
Compared to the other options out there I think that you'd be hard pressed to find another agency who not only pays attention to what you are asking for but who also has better qualified candidates. My wife and I feel there is a clear difference between Katie Facey nannies and from some of the other local agencies.

I have interviewed numerous candidates from other agencies for the past 3 months, so clearly, that was not the problem. Also, when I spoke with Katie, I asked her whether it was too early to start and she said not at all. In any event, that does not excuse failing to send one candidate given that the position starts shortly or to ever follow up with me. Lastly, I have used high level agencies in Manhattan and Greenwich and never paid an upfront registration fee.
