Concerned Parent, Philadelphia - 07/15/2014

Unfortunately, many of the previous reviews are true.I have been with the East Falls location for a while and I have loved/hated it. Never would I question the care my child gets. My child's teachers are amazing and love my child like their own. But the upper staff or administration and Owner really need to get it together. The location could be so much more than what it is now. The owner really needs to start caring about the staff and the children they care for. I do know the owner to go above and beyond for some families to accommodate certain needs, but she really has gotten worse recently. I really wish I as a parent I could do more for the staff. I know many of them enjoy what they do and love the kids they care for. I wish I had the money to help out. Would I suggest this location now? It's sad to say but NO I wouldn't. I hope the owner gets her shit together before she loses good families and good staff

Compared to my current daycare center that I am employed at LPC should be ashamed of themselves that they are even still open. So much less stress. I am a teacher and can actually teach my kids rather than yelling and always having the director in my room seeing whats wrong. I am so glad to be out of that school. The owner/CEO doesn't really care for her employees that much. All she cares about is her children in that center and taking tuition for them. I miss my co-workers there but I certainly don't miss the administration. I miss former students and parents and hope they are doing well. PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT LPC WHEN SENDING YOUR CHILD THERE. There are way better daycare centers out there that are cheaper and having a better curriculum and summer camp. I don't miss LPC once bit.

What can I say about Les Petite Cherubs....they SUCK!!!!!! We sent our daughter to the Andorra campus for Preschool when she was 3 and then she started her PreK at 4. The first year was great and I felt that she was learning a lot in just Preschool at the age of 3 years old was amazing. But, this past year for her Prek program has been the worst experience ever. She had 3 different teachers in just 1 year in her PreK program and then split up from her class and her friends. They decided to make changes to her curriculum in the last few months left to her PreK year. There was one problem after another EVERY day! They had such a high turnover with employees and administration which really affected my child's schedule and the structure went to shit! She graduated from PreK and the administration didn't have programs for the graduates and then they spelled the children's names wrong. I wanted a program for my child's memorabilia. Some of these program were just thrown together last minutes. How are you going to bring a handful of programs and then not giving to the graduating families first. The owner should be reported to the board of Education because on how the children are treated like shit! The owner needs to stop using the high prices on her plastic surgery and inappropriate dresses and pay your employees so that they can teach in a structured and safe environment. Your suppose to set an example for my child and there is no reason why she looks she's tricks on Broad Street! I can not say ANYTHING nice about this school. Withdraw your child from this program IMMEDIATELY and don't make your child suffer because of her being cheap. I pay a lot for a good education for my child and I feel that she really got the short end of the stick because of the upper administration. I really should have her gone to a better school for her PreK program. I feel that she is NOT prepared for Kindergarten because she had so many different teachers and the schedule for the children was jeopardized because of the owner being CHEAP on my child and the and the other children and most of all the teachers!

I have to say that Amy is the one of the kindest most understanding and compassionate business women I have ever come across as a parent. She treats her staff as family and her parents as friends, always willing to work with you and stops what she is doing if you have a concern and need to speak to her about anything.
I'm at a loss as to how a business, that has been around for over 30 years and has had staff that has been with her for just as long can have such terrible reviews that seem so similar in nature. They seem like a personal attack to me...
I am a parent and I went to Les Petit Cherubs and sent my children there as well. I still use staff for babysitting!
Amy employs a lot of the community and has for years. Any business that is recommended by local pediatricians and generations have attended just can't be as bad as this person or "ex-employees" is saying.

This post is completely bogus! Its obvious you are a vey angry person and have a personal issue with the owner of LPC. PARENTS DO NO LISTEN TO THIS POST...My 3 children attend LPC and will be attending their summer camp this year as well. To be completely honest I am more than happy with my children's care and I wouldn't except anything but the BEST for them. My kids love going to school everyday and cant wait for camp in the summer! They just got a pool at their Audubon campus last summer and all campuses use it. The have a trained life guard on duty and hey don't over pack the pool like some places do.. I always feel confident dropping my children off knowing hey are going o be well taking care of and safe! I also love that they have a high tech finger print system to get into the building! We love the events the owner sets up and pays for, for the Parent and Staff engagement! 5 stars LPC keep up the great work, my family loves you!!!!!!!!

LPC = bullshit, Audubon Campus - 02/16/2015

Sara Wellington - this man is telling the truth - unfortunately all she cares about is money - literally - they are so cheap anymore - no field trips - significant of education - more recently, the kids eat crap - almost two years ago they made it mandatory for the school kids to eat lunch after school unless you have a doctors note - now it's junk food and as much as you want - you can tell the teachers are fed up - I know if I was an employee at Audubon I would turn it around completely and get the other staff members with me - there's noooooo schedule - I love the teachers - there are a couple that stuck through the years but other than that - the center is shit, the business is shit - it's bad - DO NOT SEND CHILDREN HERE!!! Unless you don't mind them coming home with cuts, bumps, bruises and stories about fights and how someone punched your child in the eye - did I see a write up for anything? No - was told the teachers were too busy yapping on their phone. Come on now - you have my child in your hands - taking place of me while I work - I trust them to do what needs to be done, physically-mentally-emotionally and none of it gets done - it's a free for all.

Former employee, Pennsylvania - 03/03/2014

As a former employee of LPC, I have to tell you that it isn't the best daycare to send your child to. The owner is too cheap to hire staff so each classroom can be properly staffed without having to move staff members around from class to class. Not only do you have to teach the children and do lesson plans and care for the children but you have to constantly clean the classroom and they give you 24 hours to get through at least a full page of things needed to be done. Most centers have a cleaning service to come in but the owner did away with the cleaning service because it was too much. I guess she needed money for her botox. Its not a healthy place to be nor is it the best daycare center to work. There are way better centers than LPC!! I know for a fact because I have experienced working in a few other centers and what a difference. No cleaning, you can leave at your scheduled time rather than staying until numbers dropped and not getting paid for overtime. LPC is a disgrace so think twice about working there. Your kids are not in good hands.

Do not send your child or even your dog to this daycare. The owner is money hungry, and addicted to botox and plastic surgery and that is where your money is going, it is not going to improving or even maintaining the centers she runs. She's also an alcoholic. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ANY OF HER DAYCARES!

You obviously have nothing better to do than to be a troll on the internet. Yes you are a troll. To slam some one for your opinion of the business is what ever, even if it is the furthest from the truth, but to personally attack some one based off the fact you are an ugly person is un ethical. the owner is a business woman with more to offer to the world then some troll hounding the internet to be an ugly person. Get a life.

DO NOT GO TO LPC, Pennsylvania - 02/25/2014

LPC is a place that no child should go to. As a former employee who dedicated quite a few years to the place, I implore you to not send your child there. They do not check references when it comes to hiring aides and floaters. Teachers are always out of ratio and the owner does not care. The turnover rate is very high. Within one year of working, I went through three directors. The East Falls location has a problem with cockroaches in the basement floor where the infant room is. Also, staff are on their cell phones a lot even though they know they are not supposed to be. Toys are dirty and haven't been replaced in years. The owner only cares about stuffing your money into her wallet and she has no respect of her staff.

Dean, Philadelphia a - 01/21/2015

I agree I went on a tour a week ago at the east falls location and I wasn't at all impressed. They have the infants and toddler basement and all piled up in one room but it's sectioned off by baby gates so they kids are limited to small amount of space. They area my child would be in had no teachers just aides and they were young girls looked to me like they were fresh out of high school there is no way they are certified to be watching kids. If I'm not mistaken there are supposed 1 teacher to every 4 or 5 kids this was definitely not the case at LPC. Also the kids weren't learning anything looks like they just play all day. They outdoor area for the kids are unsafe there was trash is the play area where the 2 years old play the ground is covered with cedar chips which us dangerous, I was really hoping this school was a good a the website and brochure made it out to be. I guess it's all a marketing strategy. Another thing I didn't like was the fact they told I couldn't provided child with his on meals from home that my child would have to eat the food there program provided. I didn't like this one bite my son eat mostly organic and non GMO foods. I pretty sure they provided these kids of meals to the children. I think you should have a choice as to what your child's eat. I will not be sending my child to LPC don't be fooled by the fancy French name.

please read please read
please read please read

my child attended this horrible childcare center for about 6 hours. upon arrival i found my three month old infant laid out on the floor on his back, screaming, crying, sweating, and his face was bright red. there was a lack of staff present in the infant room. i was told days later by the lead teacher that my child was left unattended because the teacher that was watching all of the babies was attending to a child that was throwing up. when i visited the daycare they told me the ratio of infants to teachers was 4 to 1 but i found out the hard way that was not true. to top that off i was sent a bill for the horrible service. this daycare could care less about children and more about money. for $270 a week you can send your child to quality facility that will adore your little bundle and employ those that have love and passion for childcare. with fees that high i see how the owner can afford her plastic surgery she talked to me for 10 minutes and didn't blink once.

I am thinking of sending my children to LPC...after reading these reviews I am a little concerned that they would even hire the "ex employees" that are leaving these bad reviews. That alone says something. They cant spell, or speak english very well. Why were they hired to care for/teach small children from the very beginning? I was told all the staff are the "best and most dedicated
professionals".....the proof is in the pudding! I am still thinking about sending them. It would be unfair to them, there are alot of good reviews too and it is obvious the bad reviews are from bitter employees that were fired for whatever reason....I'll be back to post a "Real Review" :)

A Frustrated Father, Philadelphia, PA - 01/05/2013

Momma Bear - I am not a former teacher, but rather the father of a child that attended the East Falls location. Our year plus experience was horrible. There were shining moments of some good teachers, but the teachers could not take working there, so they all inevitably quit. It was very sad to have to see your child adapt to a new teacher every month or so. The worst part of this entire operation is the owner. She treated me horribly because I tried to be a voice for a number of parents. I would highly recommend talking to other parents and doing your research before sending your child to LPC. The owner is a good salesperson and sells the place, but we quickly learned that was all that she was good at. I wish you the best of luck with your daycare search.

As a recent substitute, I know how this organization runs, so parents you DO NOT know everything. Being in the daycare field for over 5 years I know how they are run. Parents only see what the teachers/staff want them to see. You drop your child off and then pick them up, you are not there at all hours of the day. You do not see the staff handle your children's food and drink, you do not see the staff leave the children unattended. The children's food is prepared for them in a small space and put into containers or saran wrap that is not even clean. The food is then put onto a paper plate where other foods run into each other (i.e oranges mixed with meatballs). The children then fill up there cups with luke warm water from a unfiltered sink, the same sink they wash their hands in. At nap time children are yelled at and not soothed how they should be. When children go to the bathroom, they are not supervised and no teacher is making sure they wash their hands. In the infant room, babies and crawling on uncarpeted floors and eating old/dirty food off of the floors from other babies, which could cause choking or allergic reactions. If i send my child in with oranges and peas, I do not expect them to eat Mac N Cheese off of the floor. The babies are held over CERAMIC sinks to wash their hands, posing a dangerous situation to a baby. Staff favor certain children/infants and ignore the ones they are not fond of. Outside, babies are eating wood chips and breathing in dirt while staff sits around on their cell phones. Do not send your child to this facility. The staff is untrained and uneducated. Having your own children does not qualify you to care and nurture somebody else.

Proud LPC parent, Philadelphia Pa - 12/06/2011

The negative posts here are absolutely absurd and seem as though they are coming from the same person! Isn’t "Lake Naomi" in the Poconos?? That’s a pretty long distance to travel to Philadelphia everyday for childcare ...seems very strange to me! Anyway, my husband and I currently have my son enrolled at Les Petit Cherubs, and he attends the East Falls campus. We couldn’t be happier and I truly mean that! The staff is so loving and very nurturing! The owner is always there and is the type of woman who you can tell loves what she does and has a genuine good heart! It seems that negative posts are coming from the same person who has a personal issue, and quite frankly seems as though they have no class! I was actually told about Les Petits Cherubs from two different people when my husband and I were expecting. I am a VERY protective mother, and my husband and I would not accept anything but the best for our son, bottom line! The center is always clean and everything looks brand new! The infant room is beautiful and the staff seems like they love what they do! I think it is absolutely terrible that someone would write all sorts of negative posts when a lot of it irrelevant to child care and not remotly close to what goes on in the center. Shame on you! Parents like myself go on sights like this to actually look for a safe enviornment for our children. I love Les Petits Cherubs as a whole and would recommend it to anyone! When people ask where my son attends childcare I am proud to say Les Petits Cherubs! In my eyes Les Petits Cherubs is the Ritz Carlton of childcare centers in Philadelphia and truly meets my expectations for our son!

I find the review about staff turnover to be absolutely false, I am 29 years old and I attended Les petits cherubs as a child. When my younger sister, who is 10 years younger tjan myself attended, my parents were happy to see some of the same teachers still devoted to the daycare, such as ms Pat and ms. paula, les petits cherubs has a very respected name and has been around for a while. My children also now attend the daycare and we have never had a negative experience..ever. I would much rather have my children attend a daycare where you actually know the owner and directors personally and you are able to discuss any concerns, rather than a huge corporate chain which you never meet the owners and you are simply a customer or a store front turned daycare. In my opinion, les petits is a superior daycare.

PhillyMom, Roxborough - 08/31/2013

If your kids truly attended LPC-Ridge when you wrote this comment then you are covering up for them. During that summer they went through 3 directors! 3! There was NO communication to the parents either on what happened. It wasn't until some of us reached out to the director that we got any sort of answer and I'm pretty sure if we never asked she would have ignored it. The turnover there has calmed down but summer/fall 2011 teachers and directors were leaving like crazy! Ms. Pat and Ms. Paula are still there in the infant room.

Avatar_thumbnail

PhillyMom, Philadelphia - 08/31/2013

I have copies of all the emails of correspondence between myself and the director over my concerns. One of the biggest concerns for me is that they are not adequately staffed. I complained numerous times to the director Amelia (I usually had to go straight to her because Claire would just not respond to emails) about how there would be 1 teacher with 15 kids in the morning. That is AGAINST THE LAW people!!!! It wasn't like it was one time either. This happens on a regular basis at the Ridge campus. It sounds like a lot of you are referring to the East Falls campus which sounds much nice than Ridge. Things would get better for a few days after a complaint but then it would go right back. Their biggest problem is they can't keep staff. The teachers there are wonderful! The aides that rotate through and questionable but the permanent ones (at least the ones that stay for a little bit) truly do care. You can see how frustrated they are and oftentimes when I would drop off in the morning I would overhear them complaining to each other. For a while in the beginning of the year the OT1 and OT2 classes would be watched by just 2 teachers. At least 20 kids! 1-10 ratio is not acceptable at that age!!!! I have to say I wasn't so upset that I thought it was dangerous there but there were plenty of "annoyances" and overall unhappiness. Luckily a spot opened at the facility I have really wanted so we will not be attending there soon. They are extremely pricey too. Which I would love to know what they do with all the money because the facility needs some serious updates and new toys. You can see that the toys in the Transi room are just disgusting. Plus the Transi room is the room that EVERYONE has to walk through in order to get to the other rooms so those poor kids and crawling/playing on floors that I'm sure only get cleaned once a week. I am not sending my infant there when I go back to work.

OK Folks. As far as I'm concerned, it kinda sucks that we have to put our kids in any daycare. But, since this is the case, I'd like to say this Daycare is pretty good. I am all too aware of the problems: the stupid elevator, the sun, the lack of parking and of good drop off and pick up facilities. The turn over is a problem, though that is the case for any daycare, especially at this price point.

As far as care is concerned, I believe most if not all of the teachers are very caring. The lead teacher in my child's room is extremely responsive, proactive, diligent and experienced. I know details about decision making at LPC and at Falls Center and I believe, for the most part, the children are being prioritized, even over profit potential. Maybe, if you have lots of cash, you could find a daycare with lower turn over or better facilities. But for the price, I was unable to find a better value. I think LPC reflects the realistic compromise, most of us must make. I do not believe there are any good reasons not to send you child there (no kid is starving, this is ridiculous)and have found many good reason to send my child there.

One other note, there is a parent group which works with the staff and administration to ensure a standard of quality is being met.

LPC is a s*** day care of all day cares. The owner truly places all money into her own life and childrens life style. She does not give a darn about the teachers AIDS and all hard working staff there.she will fire you in a second or demote you to other things. she does not think twice about quality care and good education teachers. The questions are always out of ratio and filthy. there is indeed a cockroach and health issue going on at the center. I say this first hand!believe what you wanna believe, but coming from thisand I can promise you you do not want to send your child there because of the owner and your inability to care about the quality of education for children. The staff come in there dedicated and going to do their best for the children, however, the owner will always disregard that. She clearly makes a very good income and keeps it all to herself, her expensive lifestyle, and making sure her children have the top of the line life.they do not follow DPW regulations and try to finagle around the laws. repairs are never completed, food is not serve in a clean environment, and staff are treated poorly.there is a high turnover rate with staff because of her selfishness. I highly suggest you do not send your child there. She should not be in business for child care in anyway shape or form.

I give LPC thumbs up. Been going for 4 years, our child is happy there and been learning leaps and bounds. Our child even talks positively about the teachers, many who have been there for years. Our director has been there for years as well, the infant teachers for even more. Our child has many friends there, so there are other parents who feel the same way. Not every place is for everyone, this one just happens to work for us.

Debbie is not lying please beware of this daycare. How they got another keystone star is beyond me. This place rarley has supplies paper towles, gloves to change the children, toilet paper, and food for the children! Poor little kids in there be starving their heads off. I have never been to a daycare where the children actually cry due to hungerness and example of their menu for the day for breakfast dry cereal and water lunch pita bread and tomatoes and snack pretzels. What kid do you know of only eats this crap through the day and won't be hungry afterwards?I don't care what the lunch menu says cause nine times outta ten they don't have the food that needs to be prepared! Your kids are starving trust me when I say. Let's not forget the younger toddler room has no changing table so ur child is gettin changed on a cot or on the floor yup you heard me right! And the infant room the toys are extremely dirty and the director is to lazy and nasty to wash the items so we took it upon ourselves to watch them be because if that was ur child would u want them laying on dirty swings, and bouncers all day? This place is horrible believe me when I say and if your child is in there you better be careful! I'm warning you take them out now! If you have noticed alot of employees have left that is never a good sign. Who wants a differrent person every week taking care of my child... Beware! Don't take the director word that your child is fine because they are not and the head boss attitude is so disgusting all she cares about is the money nothing else.

Im a parent, please read my review above. This is rediculous, please. Starving children, mice etc.. If tjis were true than the daycare would be all over the news. Please stop wasting all of our time with rediculous reviews, because you obviously lost your job. If you really cared about the children, you would post real reviews and not selfishly deter a parent from sending their child to a.good daycare because of your own issues, seriously, if this were really going on, I thibk you should get off the computer and contact the authorities, these negative reviews are simply rediculous

I love this daycare! My 11-month old son has been going to the East Falls campus on Henry Ave. for 6 months, 5 days/week and couldn't be happier. The director is wonderful and the staff is so friendly and experienced. They work with the infants and my son has learned so much in a short time. They have a policy to always soothe the babies and pick them up if they are upset or crying. LPC has become a second family and I look forward to dropping off and picking up my son so I can interact with the teachers and director. I can not say enough about how loving and caring the people are here. We get daily, detailed reports on the children and the staff is always looking to personalize the care they give each child. My son is always smiling when we pick him up and takes off to play with his friends when we drop him off. I HIGHLY recommend Les Petits Cherubs (I can only speak to the EF campus) for anyone looking for a clean, loving environment. We can tell the staff truly love our son. We had a bad experience at another local daycare and quickly pulled our son out. I had trouble finding reviews of child care facilities in the Manayunk area so I'm hoping this review will help other parents make a good decision for their children.

Laura and Debbie. Seems like the same person making two posts.

I don’t know who "Laura" and "Debbie" are, but it seems to me it’s the same person who has a personal issue! Anyway I must say that two of my children attend LPC, and I could not be happier! The teachers actually take pride in there job and truly take care of your child like its one of there own. My children wake up eager to go to daycare everyday, especially my youngest! Every time my youngest is picked up from daycare he has a cleaned face and nose, and a new diaper on! The employees take pride in there job and love my children like as if it were there own! I am not familiar with what the person is talking about who said the children don’t eat because I KNOW my kids eat when their there! It’s humorous that that lady wrote that the children cry because of hunger pains. I have never heard something so absurd! My children’s teachers actually have me bring a small little snack in for them for later on after lunch or snack if they grow a little hungry! I HIGHLY recommend LPC and would tell any parents that the staff and directors are wonderful! I know that the head boss wouldn’t put up with anything but the best my two boys have been going there for a year and my oldest was there as a new born and is now in kindergarten and I couldn’t be happier! The daycare exceeds my expectations, and makes my life a lot easier!
